Sword cane with lion head Victorian Indian colonial style with short blade and carved bone on handle. Lion head sword cane with short blade for sale.  The sword opens with a brass ‘twist and lock’ action to keep the blade in the cane and re-twist to unlock etc. Some staining due to age on the blade as seen in the photos.

Original US 1905/1906 experimental saber by Ames Sword Company in Massachusetts.  The bird-head like grip allowed for a better grip especially while riding.  A.S. Co., ordnance bomb and 1906 on one side of the ricasso and US on the other side.  The grip is made of sharkskin with the wires wrapped around.  A bit of damage on the bottom of the grip where a small piece of sharkskin has been taken off.  The blade is in good condition with blemishes from age since this piece is more than 100 years old.  The scabbard is probably made of pig skin and has shrunk over time exposing the wooden pieces constructing the scabbard.  The fact that this sword comes with its scabbard is very rare.

The katar is a punch or push dagger that was used mainly in southern India.  In battle it was used as an armor piercing close combat weapon to punch through chain mail and in civilian life it was worn mainly by nobles who would hunt tigers with the katar (usually one in each hand) to prove their manhood and bravery. This katar has the characteristic V-shaped blade and H-shaped handles.  It is made of steel and silver on the scabbard which is usually hard to find.  It was made around the 1920's or a bit before. A Caucasus kinjal dagger made of a bone handle, leather scabbard and decorated with beautiful silver ornaments.  This is a double edged dagger with a single groove on the blade.  The upper ring around the scabbard has three letters in possibly Georgian written on it.  In Georgia where it is parts of the men's national traditional costume this dagger is called a khanjali.  The kinjal was also a dagger used by many of the different Cossack groups spread throughout the Russian empire and especially in the Caucasus region. The Japanese Model 1889 Type 32 cavalry sabre has a machined blade with katana-like tip and was manufactured at the Kokura Arsenal according to the marks on the guard.  The sword was in service during the Russo-Japanese War, World War One and World War Two.  Two patterns of the Type 32 were produced, the earlier one known as ‘Ko,’ was issued to cavalry NCOs. The second pattern known as ‘Otsu,’ was issued to army transport NCOs and soldiers and was shorter.  This sword for sale is an early ‘Ko’ pattern Type 32 cavalry sabre produced with the distinctive leather finger loop, checkered grips and with a slightly different opening to the scabbard. The sword is complete with its steel scabbard with a single hanger-ring, a working locking-catch, and a clearly marked serial number on the ricasso of the blade "73475".   Dimensions: Length with scabbard: 100 cm (39.37 inches) Length without scabbard: 96 cm (37.79 inches)

The Dahlgren bowie knife bayonet is a Civil War era Union US Navy bayonet designed by Admiral John Dahlgren for use with the Plymouth/Whitneyville Model M1861 Rifle, and made by the Ames Manufacturing Company of Chicopee Massachusetts.  The Dahlgren Bowie bayonet's new design's intention was to replace the then-standard sword length bayonet with a more maneuverable bayonet for Navy purposes such as close quarters combat in ships, boarding actions, shore landings, and others and for use as either a traditional bayonet or a hand held edged weapon bulky enough to defend against swords and the heavy rifles used at the time. This Dahlgren Navy bowie bayonet is one of only 1800 produced between 1861-1864, and this item is marked as produced in 1862. Comes with an unoriginal scabbard. Markings: On ricasso: Side 1: USN D.R 1862. "D.R" initials are of the military inspector at the Ames plant, Daniel Reynolds.
