A French Napoleonic soldier sitting on a bench with his wife helping her spin or wind yarn. The title of this sculpture is Pris au Piege which translates to "trapped" as the soldier clearly is with his hands spun with yarn. This work was made by Geo Maxim probably in the 1920's in the art nouveu style of the time, made of patinated zamak alloy and a base made of onyx.
