A characteristic Kris dagger from the island of JAVA in Indonesia. This kris dagger is dated to about 1870-1890 and is a typical Java Island style with the wavy blade showing the metal grain made of a mixture of meteor iron and forged by folding the metal dozens and even hundreds of times, similar to the technique that Japanese Samurai Katana swords were made in. This authentic 19th century kris comes with the original carved wood hilt and beautiful wood scabbard that has been overlaid in embossed brass. The hilt-to-blade fitting is made of copper or brass with some jem-like rocks.
