African Azande Mambele sickle sword of the Democratic Republic of Congo.  These African sickle swords have a wide variety of forms and are found over a wide area north-east Congo, among the Bandia, Benge, Mongelima, Nzakara, Zande, Boa and Mangbetu tribes. There is no consensus as to which form can be associated (if at all) with a particular group. This variety is commonly called Azande. Late 19th to early 20th century. Length: 75 cm / 29.5 inches
